Dev Log: March Update + Updated Demo


Hello everyone! Somehow another month has passed. In my last update I mentioned my health was really bad at the end of January and in to February. It took over a month for me to finally not have symptoms, and then college started to get really busy aha. But thankfully I've managed to get some things done. The first and biggest one is:

A mini demo update!

  • Memory Ghosts now includes an option to switch between the standard game font and Open Dyslexic font. For now this only changes dialogue text, but once I get better at programming hopefully I can apply it to menu and choice options. This was the biggest reason why I wanted to update the demo so it was a little more accessible.
  • GUI updated [subject to change]
  • Extended a few interactions between characters
  • The main menu has music now

95% of this update is just cosmetics/appearance but I think it makes it feel a lot nicer. As always, if you found any issues let me know so I can fix anything ! Hopefully after this the next major update will be the full game and I'm currently aiming for a summer release. As for a general progress update:

  • Worked on/designed GUI
  • finished all base backgrounds and finished 3 night variants
  • finished Foster's CGs [5/5] and started Quincey's [2/5]
  • Reworked/edited parts of Foster's route

Goals for next month:

  • Finish Quincey's CGs and start Ozul's
  • Finally start writing Ghost's route
  • Start programing in Foster's route

Stretch Goals:

  • Edit Quincey's route
  • Finish Ozul's CGs
  • Starting learning how to market

Anyways! That's all until now! I'm really excited I've been able to make progress again and the more I chip away at this project the more excited I am to see it finished. I'll see you all next time!
